(01) The brief
Grúas Sotomayor rents 2–14 tonne forklifts and boom cranes with operator in Santiago. It needed a page that closes on WhatsApp and that the owner could maintain without a developer.
(02) What it does
- One-page landing with services, fleet, clients and contact.
- Every button opens WhatsApp with the message pre-written.
- Admin panel to change any text, photo, colour or phone.
(03) How it was built
- Astro rendered on the server on Cloudflare Workers: every visit is served from the edge with the current content.
- Editable content lives in KV as a single JSON document; photos uploaded by the client also in KV, served by the same Worker.
- No database and no third-party services: zero infrastructure cost.
(04) Security
- Panel credentials as Worker secrets; password hashed with PBKDF2 at 100,000 iterations.
- HttpOnly session in KV, 15-minute lockout after 5 failed attempts per IP and Origin check on every form.
- Panel kept out of search engines.
(05) Speed and Google
HTML served from the Cloudflare edge, no framework JavaScript on the public page. Generated sitemap and local-business structured data.
(06) What it deliberately doesn’t do
- No online quoting or booking: quotes close on WhatsApp.
